Become A Super Blogger With BloggingTips.com

Does your blog need saving? Lucky for you, there’s a new superhero on the net that can come to it’s rescue! Blogging Tips is the latest creation from Kevin Muldoon who aims to fight for truth, justice and to make you a better blogger by providing tips, tricks and hacks for your blog. Of course, as we’re in the blogging boom of 2007, there’s also a few ways to help you make some money from your blog! At just over two months old, it’s fair to say that the site is still growing, but for once that doesn’t mean that it’s lacking content!

You want tips? It’s got tips

Despite it’s young age, Blogging Tips already has over 100 tips posted which is a superhuman effort considering that 99% of the posts have been written by Kevin himself. You can’t do that unless you’re writing about something that you’re passionate and knowledgeable about which is what Kevin appears to be. What I really like about the content that he’s written is that it’s not dry and keyword focused but written in a light and humorous tone. There’s no reason you can’t have a laugh while learning how to be a better blogger!

Blogging Tips is a site that has obviously been well thought out and designed with the plan of it one day becoming a large reference site for bloggers. The categories on the site have been chosen wisely with a ‘what bloggers want’ mentality by offering topics such as wordpress plugins, themes, blog promotion, search engine optimization and design/coding. Each of these categories already contain a handful of original and useful posts that are not simply regurgitations of other posts elsewhere.

In a rare occurrence, the site is also backed up by a forum where bloggers can discuss topics reflecting the categories on the site. The forum is still in it’s early stages and lacking threads but this also means that it isn’t filled with spammy ‘link sale’ posts that are abundant on other blogging forums. The categories chosen for the forum also don’t lend themselves to being filled with meaningless junk – the web really doesn’t need another “how much do you make from Adsense?” thread!

What you’ll really notice when you visit Blogging Tips is the superman style mascot that Kevin has had created for the site. This is a professionally created mascot that will be fantastic for the site’s branding and recognition. Now that he’s got the mascot, Kevin is on a massive promotion drive and he’s doing it the right way with a $400+ competition where you can win a mascot at BloggingTips.com

Can it be faster than a speeding bullet?

I’ve been in contact with Kevin on numerous occasions and I’m very confident that he knows what he’s doing and that the site will be a success. Most of what he’s done so far in creating and promoting the site has been done intelligently and with a plan in mind.

However, websites are always a work in progress and there are still a few spots that could be improved:

  • Personally, I’d drop every bit of advertising from the site and keep the focus directly on the content. By it’s very nature, Blogging Tips is a content driven site and the advertising distracts from this. Furthermore, for a new site the aim should be to keep the readers on the site for as long as possible – not to let them click away from your site via Adsense. Some of the Adsense that I noticed on the site would have sent me to Blogging Tips’ competitors!
  • I’d also move some of the elements of the site around to give the valuable ones a more prominent position. The $400 competition is an awesome way to promote Blogging Tips, yet on my browser the banner for it was quite small and positioned well below the fold. But that could just be because of the five toolbars I have on my browser!
  • I find the use of the black sidebars to be a little dark and menacing. I’m not recommending pink (although it would look great!) but blue, red or yellow would blend nice with the superman-style mascot. I’d go for blue.

Will it help you make money?

Blogging Tips
will definitely make you a better blogger and as such it will increase your chances of making money online. While still in it’s relatively early stages, Blogging Tips is a site to watch and I’m confident that this review isn’t the last you’ll see of it!

I’ll definitely be entering the competition to win a mascot at BloggingTips.com and I encourage you to do the same and try and win a mascot along with the money and prizes on offer!
