Wordpress Style Comments On A Blogspot Blog
Looking for Wordpress comments on a blogspot blog? Get them now!
One of the essential elements to making money online is the ability to communicate with others easily. Whether it be advertisers, customers, other webmasters or your readers - communication is a must!
When I was hosted on blogspot, one of the things that I tried to do was to move away from it’s awful comments system and use a more reader-friendly comments system. As a “wannabe-blogger hacker“, I actually received quite a few e-mails from people asking me how to get a comments system like Wordpress on their blog. Subsequently, I did a lot of searching around but was never able to find it. Until now!
Jack Book figured out how to make wordpress comments in blogspot and dropped the link to the post in my comments. I don’t think this hack got the attention it deserved, so I’m putting it up here as well. It’s a nice hack that uses an iFrame to create the comment area in a post:
It’s a bit bulky, but it’s definitely better than the existing system. Of course, if you’re serious about making money online you probably shouldn’t be on blogspot for too long (I made that mistake!), but if you like the free hosting then this hack will give your blog a little more “bling“.
If you’re looking to get off blogspot, Yaro Starak’s blogspot case study is a good video to watch as it explains some of the problems with blogspot and what you can do about them in order to increase your online earnings.

i remember when you were pretty content with blogspot . . . glad you saw the light . . . maybe your readers might be interested in how you can switch from blogger to wordpress with this post i wrote where i mentioned you as a prime example - http://www.mrgarylee.com/2007/03/29/converting-a-blogger-to-a-real-blog/

Ok we can import all the posts and comments to wordpress….
But…I just want to know some first steps….Do I first need to open a free wordpress blog, then I host it in a hosting company with the domain name I chose,…then go in those details (mentioned in Gary Lee’s post)??
Is that right? and if so please explain a bit if their something I am missing?
Thanks,

you can either do a free wordpress or host it on a hosting service . . if you’re really serious about blogging, i would recommend a hosting service with your own domain . . . and to answer your question . you will want to leave your blogspot site up just in case you’ve been indexed . . . then have it redirect to your new site so you don’t lose any traffic . . . right kumiko?
by Gary Lee
It was a quite detailed process which is why I haven’t really posted about the switch yet. Definitely something that I have to do.
For me, my blogger account wouldn’t directly import into my hosting account so I imported into a free wordpress.com account and then imported to the hosing account.
Unfortunately, the permalinks change a little so you may have to manually alter these.
Definitely leave your blogspot up. You can either redirect it or take advantage of any PR for paid posts.

thank you Ms Kumiko,
i was so surprised, seeing a capture of my blog on my google reader, but it’s under your Feed. since -i think- i am the biggest reader of cashquests.com, being linked from this blog is really-really my honor.
now i’m using a comment system provided by haloscan for my blogspot. and i think it *cough* sucks *cough* not really good. because everyday we receive notification emails from haloscan saying that we got comments. but -the bad thing is- they don’t give us any link where the comments are coming from? I mean, if people leave a comment, we should know what post is being commented right? but we can’t find out what post is being commented until we open our all of our post one-by-one.
that made me suggest to all blogspot user to not using haloscan comment system for their blog. unless you want to make opening all of your post everyday as your new hobby.
Now I have planned to move to my own self hosting with wordpress.
Any idea of good hosting out there guys?
thanks

Hi Jack,
I can provide you with a whole list of hosts but that would feel like hijacking this thread, so contact me shypys[at]gmail.com and I’d be glad to help you out.
Alternatively, you can look around Digital Point Forums, you’ll find plenty of options there

Hey, thats me in the image right there!
Btw, I must congratulate Jack again on this wonderful tweak. It really helps the (supposedly underprivelidged) blogspot users.
I implemented this trick myself, and in a few days moved to wordpress :p
Btw, if you dont want to pay for hosting, you can get a free host at 110mb.com or my10gb.com(I’m not their affiliate).
There’s also dirt cheap hosting available everywhere. Contact me and i will refer you to a few good ones.
