Blogging ain’t work!

If some of the A-listers could dry their eyes for a second, I’d like to explain a few things about the real world. I’ve invited Miner Mike along to help explain a few points.

As you can probably tell - Miner Mike works in a mine. And he’s damn proud of it too.

Pro Blogger Con #1:

“I have found a days wasted in front of the television, or on the phone, when I should have been getting work done instead. Sometimes you just think to yourself, maybe a round or two on the Xbox will allow me to unwind so I can refocus, and the next thing you know, it is late in the evening and you haven’t done any work at all.”

Miner Mike says: “If I don’t work I don’t eat.”

Pro Blogger Con #2:

“Sometimes I wonder if I wouldn’t be better off working twelve hours a day for four days a week, and dealing with the rest of what constitutes my life during the three days off. But either way, it can be horrible to try to find the energy and focus to properly balance work and life.”

Miner Mike says: “I work twelve hours a day seven days a week. If I don’t, I lose my job and I don’t eat.”

Pro Blogger Con #3:

“….if you want to be a problogger, you will have to get used to using computers all the time.”

Miner Mike says: “If you want to be a miner, you’ll have to get used to being in the dark 100ft underground with the knowledge that it could all collapse on you at any moment.”

Pro Blogger Con #4:

“Sure reading and writing all day can be tiring, but my belly says that I am getting fatter and more physically lazy….between the high amount of focus and concentration, and the near zero amount physical activity, blogging can really wear you down.”

Miner Mike says: “Try a high amount of focus and concentration AND a high amount of physical activity. Now you’re really working fat boy!”

Pro Blogger Con #5:

“You have to remember that pretty much anything online is pretty unstable.”

Miner Mike says: “You wanna talk about unstable? When my job loses stability you spend time buried underground!”

Making money online isn’t as easy as a day at Disneyland, but complaining about the stresses is an insult to those who do the real work in the world.
