AdBrite Earnings Report - Google Wins

I love having a site that displays virtually no advertising as it looks a lot more “pimp” and much less “whore” than other sites. As it is now, my site isn’t currently displaying any 3rd-party advertising at all and the only ads visible on the page are those that are part of my Super Sites list.

However, the observant would have noticed that I was running AdBrite ads on the site for roughly 24 hours this week. This was done as part of a blog monetization test to see how much money could be made with them and whether it would be worth becoming an “AdBrite whore“. The results are in:

adbrite_earnings.jpg

While it’s fantastic to know that this site can generate over 75,000 ad views per month, monetizing through AdBrite would only bring in $7.80. And that was with a large 300×250 in-post ad. Furthermore, the click-through-rate was 0.28% which is quite mediocre and the average click earned just under $0.04.

I haven’t checked the AdBrite rules to see if it’s ok to publish these stats (it’s banned under Adsense) as I don’t think I’ll be using them again anyway.

Of course, the results aren’t 100% accurate as it was only a 24-hour period and AdBrite offers the ability for advertisers to purchase ads on your site directly which would increase your earnings. However, I’m sure that smaller sites like mine wouldn’t receive many of these “sitematched” ads as they’re usually only found on the big name sites.

For those sites that have been banned by Adsense or not accepted in to the program, it’s still better than nothing, but it’s not enough for me to go the full “whore” route just yet.

adbrite is not my cup of tea as i have tried a few of these payperclick programs, i still find adsense the best among them, and for newbies who are unable to get accepted in adsense or was once banned, i would recommend them to use bidvertiser.com

by Etienne Teo

Bidvertiser, simply put sucks, they dont pay you for every click, its like they pay you for every 1 out of 10 clicks! I used to use them a while ago and trust me, they suck.

Kumiko, why dont you just make another blogger.com blog and then apply to adsense through that? I know of people that have been banned by adsense then make another blog via blogger and then apply to adsense through that and get accepted (details a bit changed of course) and then use adsense ads/scripts on your site, the site itself dont get banned its the account. This definately works as I know of at least 2 people doing it for over a year now.

Also, i was reading thru Ades Blog, he has a small list of companies that might be worth to give a shot, you can find it here: http://www.adesblog.com/2007/06/16/publisher-programs-that-i-received-in-my-email/

Good Luck with whatever method works for you :)

I tried Adbrite. Pretty sucky! They were out for weeks for me, until I wrote and complained. Eventually pulled them after generating 1c. Waste of time.

AdBrite’s contextual ads are worthless. People say AuctionAds is better than AdSense when it comes to high payouts with the same amount of traffic. Check out this post related to AuctionAds http://desinotes.com/how-to-reverse-ad-blindness-from-auctionads/

Good to know.

I had greater luck with my Adsense revenue since I made a change. I updated my weekly stats for week 2 if you want to see it. It was worth it so far.

Can you make more money with Adsense? Week 2 results

Warning: Result may vary depending on the kind of blog/site

I may be wrong, but isn’t reporting the average per click for a site against the TOS?

by Princess Kumiko

You are right and just read it. :p
I did not give the number of clicks and taught it was ok. I will have to ask permission.

Thank for the heads up!

Have you tried Kontera text links? I’m not sure how successful that really is, but I’m getting about $1 a day from them. Not fantastic results, but I only get about 750 page views a day.

Kontera ads are too annoying. I wouldn’t run them even if they paid more than Adsense.

Kumiko, sometimes you write the best lines.
It’s yet another reason why I keep coming back. Thanks for the info on Adbrite. I was actually going to give them a try, but now I’ll stay away.

Oh! And a Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there.
