make money online

AGLOCO Viewbar Will Suck?

The AGLOCO Viewbar will suck and send spam to your inbox!

Just for a brief moment, forget about the AGLOCO share scam and how AGLOCO will not make money online. The main aspect of the AGLOCO scheme is that it will (supposedly) make money online through the use of the AGLOCO Viewbar. The Viewbar will display advertising and promote software that will generate an income whenever the Viewbar user purchases a product or makes a download via the Viewbar.

I don’t believe even the most hardcore AGLOCO supporters believe that they can make a decent amount of money purely through using the Viewbar themselves. The key point to (supposedly) making money through AGLOCO is to refer others so that you receive referral income through their use of the Viewbar.

However, any small chance of money making rests on the assumption that people will actually use the Viewbar and I haven’t found a reason why people would want to do this. Based on the AGLOCO Viewbar sample image from the official AGLOCO site, we know roughly how it will look and we also know that the Viewbar will use Adsense-style targeting to display ads relevant to the site you are on.

What benefit does the Viewbar have? What value does it add to a user’s internet experience? Do you really want to see more ads?I can’t see any reason why anybody would want to install this. What will happen is that once users who don’t have many referrals realize that the Viewbar is lame and not making any worthwhile money, they will simply stop using it. And when people stop using the Viewbar, how will money be made?

The only way to generate an income will be by continually recruiting new referrals - who will try the Viewbar for a little while, which will earn you a cent or two, before they uninstall it. And how do you think people will people continually try and recruit new referrals? The same way they tried to do it when the exact same situation occurred with AllAdvantage…..

S-P-A-M!

Indirectly, AGLOCO is going to create a lot of spam. Which is the main reason the Viewbar sucks and why I passionately hate AGLOCO.

Would you use the Viewbar?

I would not use this viewbar. Already enough clutter wasting space on my computer! Most people do not even click on the ads.

I am not much of a toolbar user (I do not even run the Google bar). I agree, I do not see any reason for the average person to have it on their browser.
Also, the people who are most likely to keep using it for the little bit (if any) they are likely to get, most likely are not the best choice to advertise to.
Then again, I’ve seen a lot of toolbars on computers that did not do anything(Gator, greeting card, smilies…). I wonder how long before we see malware type installs of it.

I’m still on the fence about Agloco. Haven’t looked carefully at it yet and will make up my mind later.

But as for spam issues that Agloco might create, they will be negligible.

With the amount of spam out there and it’s growth trends, the effect of Agloco will be like adding a glass of water to the sea.

by Staska

Staska - If you haven’t looked at AGLOCO yet, then you’ve probably missed the boat!! If it makes any money (which it won’t), those who got in early have the most to gain.

I’m not sure how you can dismiss the spam issue as being negligible. AGLOCO will have MILLIONS of members and I daresay a large proportion will resort to spam to get every last referral. In the last days of AllAdvantage, you saw the “paid-to-surf” banners everywhere and the spam was immense. Isn’t any increase of spam horrible?

nope, is just not gonna work. Nobody wants to see this crap all the time. And I’m sure they won’t have a mac version for me anyway :)

by Bob

Bob - I agree. They’re actually bragging on the official AGLOCO blog about how many advertisers they have deals with! Imagine this on TV, “Hey we can sure you more ads than ever before!!”

I know I’d change the channel!

You say “What value does it add to a user’s internet experience? Do you really want to see more ads?” But your page is full of what?….full of ads. Somewhat hypocritical, don’t you think????

by Jeff

Yeah. Another I-hate-Agloco post. What else is new. In fact, it looks to me that you’re just spamming your blog with more Agloco topics…

Oh, by the way, Kumiko, please do not stop by my blog today, ok? You can come again Saturday, though, I’ll always welcome you with open arms :) Just not today.

See you Saturday!

I’m still on the fence about Agloco as well. I’m still running an ancient computer and MSN Messenger already slows it down… to have another application taking more resources is a real turn off. Time will tell.

by Danny

Jeff - Yes, my site has ads but they are not all that I offer and are a minor part of the site. My point in the post is that I believe the Viewbar is ONLY offering ads! I’m not doing that so it’s not hypocritical at all. You’d still watch a TV show if it contained ads, but would you watch TV if it only showed ads?

Michael - How can you spam your own blog?! I’ll continue to write about AGLOCO as long as I feel there are points that need to be raised. Don’t worry, I won’t visit your site…should I encourage others to do the same?

Danny - Good point about the PC resources being used up. I hadn’t thought about that aspect before. Considering it’s being released for Vista, XP and 2000 I’m guessing that it will take a fair chunk of system resources.

Love this post and the screenshot you made sweet Kumi! You never cease to amaze me with your creativity.

Hi Kumiko!
I think people will use the viewbar. There are people clicking on e-mails, surfing on sites with auto or manual surf, posting nonsenses…only for a few cents. So I can’t see why not using viewbar for only a few hours per month! Spam already exists. Viewbar offers not only ads…don’t forget it’s possible to make search on internet (also google based).
Now, I don’t know if you’re writing against agloco only to get more traffic to your blog (considering how many agloco members there are), so this will be my first and last post here! :D
Bye!

hey kumiko, wouldn’t you lose credibility if later on Agloco does help people make money even if they don’t have referrals?

by Michael, Mico, or Maku

Michael, Mico or Maku - A good point and one that I’ve thought about a fair bit. I think I’ve gained a fair amount of credibility by at least being honest about my thoughts and writing whatever I want to. I’m not going to lie about my thoughts just in case I may be wrong.

And I don’t believe I will be wrong. I REALLY believe that AGLOCO won’t make money so I’m not too worried about losing any credibility.

However, if that 0.00000001% possibility occurs and AGLOCO does make money…let’s just say that I’ve got an action plan. But I really don’t think I’ll be needing it!

I could not have said it better!! You put my exact thoughts into words here.

Why, with so much spam and ads online, would people choose to expose themselves to more for a tiny personal reward?! (By that I mean people who are users but don’t have referrals. The majority of big earners will only be those who have lots of people beneath them, earn them money).

by Michelle

Ok, so you (agloco) want me to install a toolbar (or viewbar whatever it is) which is gonna show me ads right in my face???? Thanks ,but no thanks. Give me as much amount as you can, but I won’t want ads to display right on my desktop.

Next please … :P

yes i will use the Viewbar for 5 hours then will put it off. its only 5 hours for a month, i am online 27 hours a day LOLZZZ..
Hope u will not banned my commant ..heheherh

by YBM

Hi, I believe Agloco will do well. Peoples in general don’t get angry for just using a small toolbar… and that for only 5 hours a month.

I’ve just strolled across your blog by looking at Agloco related stuff, my friend told me about it, I told a few friends but What I really don’t get is why i’m doing it? “Hmm free money, sounds great!”… Um, I’ve just read all of your blogs about Agloco, you make an extremely good point, such a good point that I uninstalled it.

[…] nothing personal against the AGLOCO team. I’m sure they are actually quite young and feisty. CashQuests hit the nail on the head straight […]
