All Guest Bloggers Must Die

It’s gone beyond a joke.

In the last month, over 10 of the blogs that I regularly read have gone into “guest-blogging mode” and are now consisting entirely of posts written by authors who aren’t the blog owner. And they’re killing the blog owner’s profits!

When you go to a blog and find that the latest post is guest-written it’s like buying a ticket to a Christina Aguilera concert and then when you arrive finding that Christina has the day off and Paris Hilton is singing in her place. If you’ve heard Paris Hilton sing - you know you’ll be wanting your money back!

Do they care about the readers?

Guest blogging is great for only two people: The guest blogger and the blog owner.

The guest blogger receives a nice piece of exposure and the blog owner gets to be lazy for a day and have someone else give them free content. But for the readers of the blog? They’re just going to suffer!

Readers will frequently visit a blog not only for the useful content but for the style, opinions and voice that it is presented in. When a guest blogger arrives on the scene, that is taken away and the readers have lost the reasons that they visit the site.

Some will argue that as long as the guest blogger writes in the same style of the blog owner that all would be fine but…

Guest blogging content is awful

A writer’s best content is not given away for free to another blogger!

Many argue that it is in the guest blogger’s interest to write good content for a guest post as it maximizes the effectiveness of a guest posting and they’re right…but it’s not their best content!

Consider this: Imagine you have just written a super-awesome post that will be linked to by everybody who reads it. Will you publish it on your own site or will you e-mail it away to be published here on CashQuests.com?

Of course you’ll save it for your own site!

And that’s the problem. Readers don’t want to read 2nd-grade B-material - they expect (and deserve) the best! Guest bloggers send the message that a site is full of B-grade postings and that any readers should stay away.

Having guest bloggers will kill your site!

Game over guest bloggers

Guest blogging only helps the writer and the blog owner and reading B-grade garbage wastes time that could be better spent making money. From this day onwards, I refuse to read, comment or link to any guest posts.

Only the A-material is good enough for me!

Note: Getting paid to post on another site is different to guest blogging.
