Are Your Readers Secretly Laughing At Your Opinions?

You’ll see it repeatedly on almost every blog about making money online at some point and it always manages to make me laugh:

Those great tips to increase comments on a blog become a complete waste of time once the reader sees that the post itself has received ‘0 Comments‘! How good can the tips really be?? It seems ridiculous that anyone could take these tips seriously when the author is not able to draw a single comment on the post.

Of course it could just be that all these posts contain the same tired and boring tips of “respond quickly“, “ask questions” and “thank first time commentators“! Perhaps they need to check out how to never see “0 Comments” on your site again!

If you’re going to have an opinion or recommendation, you can give it a lot more weight and power simply by testing it yourself to see if it actually works!

Back it up

It’s no secret that Cash Quests focuses a lot on analyzing the statistics and numbers when it comes to making money online and there’s a good reason for that - it gets results!

Not only does it give posts a lot more power and support but it also provides results that can be used to make decisions about the best ways to profit from your site. For example, you may think being able to make $50 per day with Adsense is great, but if only 0.001% of traffic is clicking ads - you’ve actually got a big problem!

You may even learn something new from the results! There used to be a strong belief that many readers left comments, but the statistics have repeatedly proven that it’s actually less than 3%! This data is incredibly useful for defining the focus of your site.

If you’re going to give a tip or piece of advice to your readers it is definitely in your interest to test it out and report on how it actually works. You may sometimes see it as proving what you already know, but in the end you’re giving yourself more content to write about and making your advice more reliable than those who just say it without testing.

Do you really think “responding quickly” increases the comments on your site? Prove it!

Show me the numbers!

Want to put it in action? Find a question that your readers want answered and instead of just giving your opinion on what the answer might be (or asking other readers what they think), actively seek out and find the answer.

Collect the data, analyze it and report the results - you may just find yourself being linked to and quoted as an authority on the subject!
