Banner Ads Still Work. I Promise.
Banner advertising on web sites is still a valid way of making money, despite the opinions of many that it no longer works.
If it works or not can depend on a variety of factors: the quality of the ad, the quality of the product, and targeting the right people.
There is also the distinct possibility that you can gain customers later down the road from the branding element of your banner ad campaign. The graphic element of banner ads is something that adWords and similar advertising tactics just don’t have. They don’t have that branding element. AdWords all look the same, and there is nothing about them to stick out to a person that they will remember later on.
I’m not saying that you can’t make money from adWords. Obviously that is still a route you can take as well.
All I’m saying is that regardless of what anybody says, banner advertising still works. You just have to go about it the right way. So instead of dismissing it completely, maybe you should look into the mechanics of creating an effective ad.
