DealDotCom Sucks

My apologies to the DealDotCon affiliates who are trying to make money online by convincing people to buy lame e-books, but the whole DealDotCon thing is a bit of a joke in my opinion.

First, check out their information page where they talk about what type of product you need if you want to sell it through them:

ddc_deal.jpg

That’s right folks, giving someone a 2% discount ($10 off $500) isn’t an actual deal and they won’t accept it. Check out their latest offer which is an e-book selling at the “deal” price of $7.66:

ddc_766.jpg

Wow! $7.66 must be a great deal, right? Wrong. Following the link from DealDotCom to the official product sales letter reveals its usual price to be $7.95:

Geez…thanks DealDotCom for that massive 29 cents saving! You knocked a whole 3% off the price!! That’s much more than the 2% discount which you claim isn’t a deal…3% must be an actual real deal!

Now you might be still be thinking that it’s a “deal” because you get the resell rights through DealDotCom but that the rights aren’t mentioned on the official sales page. Well, judging by this chapter in the e-book, I’m guessing that you get the chance to resell anyway:

ddc_rights.jpg

It’s the oldest internet marketing trick in the book. You sell someone an e-book about how to sell something and then let them use that knowledge to resell the same e-book that you sold them.

Usually this technique is hyped by the “You bought it so others will too” tagline. Unfortunately, those reading it are more inclined to think “I was sucked in to buying this crappy e-book…I wonder if I can suck others in too.

If you don’t plan on reselling it? Congratulations on your 3% saving.

Sure, you could make some money by being a DealDotCom affiliate and promoting them but when you start pushing e-books (at a 3% discount!) you’ve really got to start questioning what decade you’re trying to make money in.

E-books are like soooooo 1998!

UPDATE (23/9): Googlelady bought the product from DealDotCom and calls it the worst product she ever bought! She also notes that they let you resell the same product for $7. Obviously buying it from her would be a much better deal than through DealDotCom!

I’m not a user of DealDotCom, but I knew there was something fishy about it. With all the DealDotCom hype out there, I think it was a good idea that I didn’t have to sign up.

I was under the impression that the deal was for Master Resell Rights Too. If you don’t use the deal and go to their main page, for 7.95 you don’t get the resell rights. I’m not 100% because I didn’t purchase it but that’s how I understood it.

Also, my blog is new and doesn’t get too much traffic yet, however, I have made decent money already from dealdotcom.
Blogging newbies happen to like ebooks because the info is right there handy to explain everything to them. Yes, we can do searches and ask a million questions and get a million different answers or no answers at all but it’s much easier to grab an ebook for reference. Some of us are not bigshots like you and need the extra information.

Selling ebook really work if you want to make money online, probably one of the simplest and easiest way. People love infomation

No one would sell it if they aren’t making money…

It’s just a web 2.0 glorified clickbank network

The first couple of products looked good IMHO. I even bought the Wordpress Affiliate plug-in which has paid for itself

However, within the first week they’ve resorted to flogging dodgy e-books. I’ve only ever bought one e-book worth the money (SEO Book) so at this point I’m bailing from DealDotCom.

Now seriously, if for any crazy duck idea you would sell an e-book for $7,95 would you drop it under $7? Have you stoped to think that it might not be profitable to sell it any cheaper?

Plus, you are focusing on one product. How about the Wp-Affiliate plugin discount? Still, a discount is a discount… you still save money!

It’s an e-book - whatever price they sell it for is pure profit. And the point of the site is to provide great deals…but that’s not what they’re doing.

I agree and disagree.

I’ve wrote and sold an ebook before and made good profit on it, but it was my original work and it wasn’t about how to resell an ebook. If you look on ebay, there are a lot of people actually making real money selling ebooks all day. Some of them may be morally bankrupt, but they’re still making money. I stopped selling mine because people started reselling it without my consent and it became too much of a waste of time to deal with it. I agree, though. Most ebooks out there are garbage.

As for DealDotCom… It seems to me that the biggest draw is to become an affiliate and hope you make enough to feel good about people buying crap from them. DDC hit a traffic peak this weak at around 1,500 on Alexa (which shows you what blog buzz can do), but I imagine they’ll hit the 40,000 range or so soon. After a couple months, they’ll be just keeping up.

I will be shy even giving it for free. if anyone has an idea how to upload 98mb to somewhere free let me know I can give this for a price of a click (to download) lol I am selling it right (for a price of the click to download it)?

I blame dealdotcom on the last product that they offered but I blame myself to buy this product. Just hope that the coming offers will be much better than the last product.

I am not against dealdotcom I really hope that they succeed like this there will be another source of income (hope they will pay as well).

Why didn’t you write anything evil about BlogRush?

by KCLau

I am confused here. They put a direct link to the product so you can compare for yourself. They are not forcing anyone to do anything, they have a blog that allows you to discuss the product and point out areas you can get a better deal if possible and so far they have offered some pretty good deals. Why do you have such a big hate on for DealDotCom?

by janey

After you’ve received your 100th email telling you about this great e-book deal over at DDC you’ll know.

by Cash Quests

I know what you are talking about. About those marketers that just wait for the first offer that makes them money and start spamming their subscribers right?
