Find Expired Domains With PageRank

I’ve been getting heavily into buying expired domains with PageRank recently and one of the best free tools that I’ve come across is via drophunt.com

On dropHunt, you can search for an expired domain that contains a specified keyword and also select the minimum PageRank and number of backlinks that you want the domain to contain. Not only that, but you can also search for expired domains that expired within a certain date period (like yesterday) or have a minimum Alexa ranking.

Despite the coolness of the tool, it’s still pretty hard to find a quality expired domain with backlinks or PageRank - although how much PageRank curently matters is debatable. Most quality expired domains get snapped up almost instantly or have orders placed on them before they’ve even expired.

However, I’ve still been able to use the tool to pick up some decent expired domains that shouldn’t be too hard to develop a little and flip for a profit. Finding expired domains can definitely be done a lot easier with some paid tools, but as free ones go this one is pretty useful.

What you are trying to do it is a sort of scam. Developing sites or buying already developed it fine , but buying expired domains and throwing a script on them it’s wrong. Basically you say that people should foul the buyers with these PR domains. I think you realize that the very next update all the domains will loose the PR and backlinks … this is what’s happened in 95% of the cases anyway…
I wouldn’t advice to do that unless you want a featured spot in here:

Better to start from scratch, get proper backlinks and sell the sites the way they are, not trying to foul the buyers, look mate this is a PR5…
Just my two cents…

Mark from 45n5 posted about this recently too. I’m interested to know what you do with the domains after you’ve bought them in order to monetize.

Dropped domains very rarely maintain their PR - in all likelihood they’ve been pointing at nothing for several months and Google quickly forget about them.

Place more emphasis on checking those backlinks!

@NetCritics - Whoah! I didn’t say anything about throwing up scripts or fouling buyers. I think you’re quite off the mark at calling it a scam - if I’m prepared to buy a domain doesn’t that mean that I’m getting scammed too? :)

I’m moving my searching exclusively for backlinks and forget about pagerank, based on email feedback from a similar post I made. Go figure.

Good to hear you didn’t say anything about fouling buyers :)
In this case could you elaborate your concept a bit? Why would you buy PR domains then? Just to start new websites, waiting for PR to fall to 0 (zero) and then re-build it back?
Please explain what’s the point of buying dropped or expired PR domains and how do you plan to “develop A LITTLE and FLIP for profit”.

Thank you

@45n5 - Yeah, I saw your post on that awesome tool. Nice. I suppose it depends on your strategy - if you want to build a site for the medium-long run you need backlinks. However, if you want to cash in the huge market of people looking for PR domains, PR is really all you need. I predict that “cashing in” will be called a “scam” by some, but it’s hardly a scam if you’re selling people what they want. PR is so out of date at the moment that almost any domain could revert to something completely different in the next update

@NetCritics - Buy PR, add backlinks, sell. Buyer gets exactly what they want - a PR domain with backlinks. As I replied above to 45n5, PR is so out of whack at the moment that it’s impossible for anyone to predict the “true” PR. Yet, there is still a market and people still want to buy PR. Buyer beware - the PR may drop, it may not. Either way, I’ll make money.

Hate the game, not the player.

Looks like a real good tool, especially the keyword search.
Nothing wrong with getting a headstart with PR and backinks. All you are really doing is speeding up the process of creating a valuable site. IMHO

Hey Cash;

Thanks for the heads up on this tool! - it must be down right now or something, it wouldn’t finish any searches for me, I’ll try again later.

Here’s another tool that does the same thing pretty much, but seems a little simpler - it has a backlinks tool, domain age and a few other cool tools - http://www.deletedlive.com

i am interested in finding out more about expired domains, and have seen 1 site advertising certain package deals that guarantee you x amount of hits per day. are these packages worth going for?

also i am wondering how long you will own the expired domains? do you renew them just like your own domain? and do you just redirect these domains to your site, or create new sites out of them?

Cash a quick question for you.

I have been looking for expired domains, I found one I was interesting in and I try to register it. I have got the Godaddy page that said the domain was already taken.

Can you tell me how does it work? Should I backorder it? How do you buy the expired domain?

Thanks very much for your help.

 You are so awesome for posting this informative link. I have been seeking a way to find all of that information in one place. Thanks again, there is a lot of money to be made buying these domains and doing a little work and re-selling them for profit ; ) I urge anyone who hasn’t done this before to try it.
