It’s Great When It’s All About Making Money

Blogs are a constant “work in progress” and that means that as soon as they get started there is already a lot of work that needs to be done to improve them! In my time reviewing blogs from around the globe, I have come across many new sites that were struggling to provide any posts of value in their first month as it seemed the webmaster was more concerned with figuring out how to join Technorati and display AdSense than about how to write great content.

So when you go to a blog that is less than two months old and you find that it has useful and interesting content right from the first week - you know that you’ve found something special.

There’s no talk of joining a MyBlogLog community and there’s nobody shouting “Yay! I got my first comment!” but there is a lot of money making going on in the focused world of Derek Beauchemin.

It’s all about the money

Derek Beauchemin has been making a living online since 2004 and he managed to really get my attention with the line from his About page that read:

“I won’t bore you with a history of how I got started and progressed in this industry; instead, I will just talk about the purpose of this website and some of my future plans.”

And that’s what he did. No ramblings about his history, just straight into how his site is going to teach you how to make money online by covering the various programs and revenue sources that he uses to make a living on the internet.

DerekBeau.com gives you useful and practical advice about affiliate marketing, site creation, pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns and traffic generation. All of the content is right on the money and backed up with practical examples and stories from Derek’s own experiences. It’s a formula that works well and serves as a lesson to anybody who is thinking of starting their own “make money online” blog - keep the content tight!

It’s all about great content

While it uses a different theme, DerekBeau.com follows a similar layout to Cash Quests in that it doesn’t have any unnecessary clutter and the focus is kept tight on the content. The site’s design is simple and it works well to provide you with lessons on how to make money online without you being distracted by advertising or sales pitches.

You will find the content to be useful and interesting as these posts demonstrate:

That’s an awesome list of top posts for a blog that isn’t even two months old!

It’s all about image

When a blog is tightly focused, clutter-free and provides real case studies, it’s difficult to find areas for improvement. Navigation around the site is easy and the only thing extra that I would want from the site is more posts!

However, with the high quality of posts on the site, I have to say that Derek’s profile picture does not do the site justice!

Maybe the photo was taken a little early in the morning, but the amateur looking photo really takes the shine away from the professional posting that’s going on with the site. I’m not saying that bloggers should hire professional photographers, but I don’t think it would be hard to find a photo that showed a better side of Derek Beau!

It’s all about closing the deal

I’m happy to say that I’m quite sold on DerekBeau.com and that I’m looking forward to following the case studies and testing the tips that Derek delivers. It’s 100% about making money online so I have subscribed to the site to increase my knowledge about how to make an internet income and I would encourage you to do the same!
