Making Money Through Facebook
Does SEO have you stumped? Is Google not showing you any love? How about disregarding those venues altogether. I’m not saying that this choice isn’t risky, but if you’re dedicated enough could have a great outcome.
When most people think of ‘going online’, or ‘advertising online’ their minds tend to shift towards conventional websites. First, you make a website and if you’re savvy enough with SEO it gets recognized by search engines. There’s a whole other avenue that has a vast amount of potential for money making; social media.
To give people some perspective I’ll be using Facebook as an example of using social media as an online resource.
The first thing to remember when trying to tackle a site like Facebook, is to know your audience. If you’re trying to advertise your blog about gardening, then make sure you’re trying to reach the gardeners on Facebook. Also keep track of your profile, and that your putting information that’s relevant to whatever service/product you’re trying to sell. If your trying to sell gardening tips, don’t put your expertise on video games when talking about yourself.
If you currently have no product or service to sell, then try to make one for Facebook itself. Try and find a good progammer, and exchange ideas that might be useful to use on Facebook. Monetizing is one of the easier parts of putting an application on Facebook. After you’ve discovered an idea that’s popular and will generate downloads, then you can start selling ad space. You can put ads in your application or link the download to your site and sell ad space on there.
I hope all of you realize that there’s more to making money on the internet than just traditional websites alone. There’s a vast untapped market out there just waiting to be seized. I used Facebook as an example for the article, but there are plenty of other venues ripe for the picking.
