Is This The Most Popular Blog In The World?

With my recent post regarding faking your comments and Problogger posting on the same topic, it’s obvious that there’s a real “success breeds success” philosophy in the blogosphere.

The bigger and more popular your site appears to be, the bigger and more popular it becomes.

Whether that’s the way it should be - I don’t know. But I’m pretty certain that’s the way it is.

Hence, I love this RSS button that I found at deaf musician. I don’t know if it has worked and created more subscribers, but it certainly makes your blog look very popular:

Now if someone could invent a button that automatically subscribed 6 billion real readers, they’d a hit on their hands!

Hi, why you don’t put date and time on your site?
:?:

by VORN

Every pixel counts. Dates and times are only useful on news sites.

I love these ideas that you keep coming up with. Keep them coming and I will keep coming. Thanks for everything.

no doubt,its fake.

by Wallace

No, it’s not fake. I have so many readers, the feedburner people banned me at least 100 times cause I kept crashing their servers. It sure feels good that the entire world population wants to read what I have to say. It feels good, yes, it does. You wouldn’t know, though.

Dates and time give your readers an impression of how relevant your posts are in relation to time…

by blackyard.net

Exactly. Older posts look irrelevant with dates. Now all my content is timeless!

by Princess Kumiko

But why you don’t take the time and date from our comments?
You said that “Every pixel counts” :?:

If someone really wants to fake RSS subscriptions and make it look real, then they shouldn’t go for such a stupid number. A smaller number of a few hundered would be a lot more believable.

by Steve

It’s a joke. 6 Billion is about the population of the earth.

by Princess Kumiko

Haha, it’s always fun when you have to explain the joke to them, isn’t it Kumiko? I get so many emails asking me, “dude how did you get 6 billion readers”, I reply… “I charge $1 million US / hr, if you want that question answered.” Surprisingly, no one has replied yet.

Dammit, I ain’t stupid…. of course it’s a joke.

I was just making a point about faking things, and making them look realistic.

I think that’s called spamming…

haha I’ve actually done something like that few days ago. I didn’t go to the extent to 6 Billion though.. but I took it down right away cause I wasn’t sure how humorous my visitors are. I’m sure some would look at it and say “She’s so stupid she couldn’t even lie better”

by Dee

lol, 6 billion wow - but then again that IS the whole population of the world :P

by Abdalla

Is it really a snowball effect… my rss numbers fluctuate so much day to day.
