New Interactive Google Adsense

Recently spotted are some new Google Adsense ads that I haven’t seen before. Found on a popular blog, the first ad served looked like this:

After entering CashQuests.com into the ad, the box changed to this:

Obviously these ads are served by Google and designed to promote webmasters into joining Google Adsense. I’d be interested to know whether someone gets paid when this ad is displayed and a visitor enters a URL.

It’s an interesting development to see a text field inside an ad and certainly ads an element of interactivity to advertising. It definitely took my attention away from the site and focused me on to the advertising.

Obviously, this has great potential for affiliate programs and pay-per-lead opportunities. Instead of having to direct someone to another site to have them enter their details, they could enter their details via the advertising which would be a lot more user-friendly.

Furthermore, affiliate marketers could borrow the “trust” of a site for their advertising. For example, if I saw an ad like this on a site that I trusted, I’d be more inclined to enter my details than if I was first redirected to an unknown sales page.
