Own Making Money Online At Enwikopedia

I know that you love to make money online. If you didn’t, you wouldn’t be reading Cash Quests. That’s why I know that you’re interested in different ways that people make cash on the Internet. It seems like everyone and their grandmother has a blog these days with Adsense, but what about other ways to grab that dough? What if you could take the idea behind Wikipedia and receive tons of money by monetizing it? That’s exactly what Enwikopedia is all about!

Isn’t This The Same As the Million Dollar Wiki?

Yes. In just about every way. The main difference is that Enwikopedia is substantially cheaper. Whereas the Million Dollar Wiki charges you $100 regardless of what kind of keyword you would like to purchase, Enwikopedia has a three-tiered pricing plan.

As you recall, the Million Dollar Wiki is based on Wikipedia, except every page is up for sale and the owner of that page can use it to do whatever they want. John Chow bought “Make Money Online”, for example, and he’s already recouped the cost of buying the page through affiliate and referral links that he scattered throughout the page. With Enwikopedia, the same page would have cost Chow just ten bucks.

If your chosen phrase is three words or more (like Make Money Online), then the price on Enwikopedia is $10. A two-word phrase — like Affiliate Marketing — is $50, whereas a single word is $100. To buy a page, you simply Paypal your cash over to buy@enwikopedia.com.

Enwikopedia is Ugly

Hit up the main page of Enwikopedia and you’ll a very plain-looking website. There are no graphics with the exception of some stylized text at the top, and there is nothing there that makes me go, “Wow.” More importantly, the call to action is weak and it does not compel me to buy a page, even if they have “the best Refund Policy EVER!” You actually have to scroll pretty far to even find the “purchase” link and it’s not particularly prominent.

Of course, your page on Enwikopedia can be as pretty as a MediaWiki-based page can be, but if the homepage isn’t attractive, people won’t stick around and they probably won’t navigate over to your purchased page anyways. What’s the point of plopping down $10, $50, or $100 if you get close to zero visitors (and thus, minimal money-making potential) out of the deal? Yeah, pretty sad. I’m not saying that Enwikopedia needs to have flashing banners and tables up the wazoo, but they’ve got to make this site look better.

Enwikopedia is a Wiki

It would have made more sense if they purchased Enwikipedia rather than Enwikopedia, because there are going to be a lot of people plunking typos into their address bars. Having that “o” makes the name closer to encyclopedia, but having the “i” will remind people that it’s a Wiki. I realize that it’s a trade-off, but given the Web 2.0 nature of the site, wiki would be better than wiko.

One Page Purchased

Want to know what’s really sad? Maybe it’s because Enwikopedia hasn’t been around all that long, but when you check out the All Articles page, you see just two pages: the main page and Web Search Directories. The latter is still “under construction.”

If they hope to get more purchases, they have to show that the site has content that is worthwhile. It may have been a little evil to do so, but don’t you think they could have put up a few dummy pages that people probably won’t be interested in buying anyways? This way, you fake interest. It just like street musicians who put some change in their guitar cases before starting to play.

Luke, I Am Your Father

In the interest of getting some more attention, Enwikopedia is launching a linkbait contest, giving away a 2GB Mini Darth Vader USB Flash Drive.

All you have to do is write a blog entry that links to the main page using whatever anchor text you want. To be mean, you could Google bomb them, saying that Enwikopedia is the ugliest website ever. Not that I’d condone anything like that.

If You’re Not First, You’re Last

Like the Million Dollar Wiki, as soon as you buy a page on Enwikopedia, you own it for life. Even if there is zero traffic going there now, the site may grow in the future. If there’s a particular keyword that you’re interested in, it can’t really hurt to plunk down a few bucks and hope that the developers do a better job promoting and designing the site. If you don’t buy it, someone else might. As Ricky Bobby once said, “If you’re not first, you’re last.”
