PayPerPost Would Have Paid Me To Slam Them?

There’s currently a $10 opportunity on PayPerPost to create buzz surrounding PayPerPost Direct that doesn’t have any PageRank or Alexa requirements for your site - and there’s no requirement to be positive! If my new domain was registered with PayPerPost, I’d take this opportunity and submit yesterday’s slamming post about how PayPerPost Direct is short changing bloggers - and take the title as the Queen of All Evil!

Despite no requirement to be positive, they do ask that you talk about the differences in service charges between PPP and it’s competitors like ReviewMe - let’s just not talk about the differences in what services you actually get, right? If I was PayPerPost I would’ve waited until they’d established a publisher marketplace before launching PayPerPost Direct - and still only charged a 10% service fee. Better yet, I’d build a better publisher marketplace by providing more accurate RSS readership statistics and providing the ability for advertisers to search based on the lowest charging blog with a certain ranking. For example, being able to find the cheapest blog with an Alexa under 100,000. This is great for advertisers as they get a better ROI and great for “value for money” publishers as they’ll receive more offers! More bang for your buck!

With their large advertiser base and lower service charge, they would’ve captured the paid review market in a matter of seconds!

In any case, while PayPerPost Direct will be short changing you, the regular PayPerPost marketplace is still a great place for bloggers to make a quick and evil $10!

PayPerPost is going towards the right direction. Their business model is suitable for almost all publishers. I just love them.

they want a neutral review, i just “give” them…

What you did yest. was biased, if you ask me…you wer in favour of reviewme totally…PPP direct is much better in my opinion, since they take up only 10%, which is nominal and they take it from the advertiser, not from our cost…and 2$ per 22$ is not big money compared to 10$ per 20$ by reviewme.

To slam a company with harsh words just when they are trying to get better was not good. How many reviewme posts have you got till date? 2? 4? it works only if you are some real big blogger, but ppp is perfect for most smaller blogs with some good advertiser base also.

@TheAnand - $2 isn’t a lot, but how are they getting it? An advertiser comes to your site and decides to contact you for a review - why should PPP get anything? They’re not sending the advertiser to your site.

Yes I used harsh words, but I don’t like being told that something is a great money making opportunity when it’s clearly not. That doesn’t sit well with me.

You say PPP is good for smaller blogs with an advertise base? What small blogs have an advertising base? You need a publisher market like ReviewMe to get that!

vote kumiko for the Queen of Evil :)

I think the problem is just… ah.. forget it!

just love to vote for Kumiko :)

I won’t be voting Kumiko for “The Queen of Evil”…. I’ve had enough of “Evil” John Chow.

I’ll vot for Kumiko to be Kumiko…. Thats good enough for me.

Well, they are not sending the advertiser I agree, but I am sure that they have this feature on the pipeline since without a publisher base as you say.

Take reviewme, a advertiser clicks on the “Review Me @ 40$” and requests a review from you….if ppp taking something is a problem, reviewme taking 5 times that is outrageous!

PPP is good for blogs with a small audience and the opp. in them are not very demanding, usually 50-100 words..i meant that PPP has a good advertising base where everyone can get some cash, unlike reviewme or sponsoredreviews where the advertiser approaches you…for small blogs, this is not practical. The PPP and reviewme catered to different sizes, and now PPP is stepping up to others territory as well…thats all.

Kumiko, did you ever think about using AdBrite’s contextual advertisements. You have the traffic so, why not use AdBrite in replacement of Google AdSense, try it.
