The Secret To Making Money Online Is Written Between The Lines
Here’s a little secret recipe for how you can make money with your blog:
- You purchases a product that has an affiliate program.
- You put in some work and use some cheap tricks to make money from the product.
- Resell the idea to your audience, making note of your success with the product, and including your own affiliate link when writing about it.
- Your readers purchase through the link and you quickly recover the initial expense and make a large profit.
- Use profits to go back to Step 1. Rinse and repeat.

But is it really a big secret? No. It’s actually quite obvious and is one of the easiest ways to make money with a blog. Why does it work so well? Because you’re showing your audience that you have enough faith in the product to invest your own money and you’re providing proof that it’s a money maker.
And it’s not a lie or a scam, because it actually is a money maker.
But here’s a real secret
The truth of the world is that 99% of “make money online” bloggers would sell out their readership tomorrow if the price was right. If not tomorrow, they’re going to sell their readership to the highest bidder when they eventually sell their site.
Don’t believe you’ll be sold out? Well look at all the bloggers who write about how you should “always be honest with your readers” and “don’t sell out your audience” and then go and cloak their affiliate links. That’s right - they really respect and value you but then they’ll actively work to hide just how much they’re actually milking you.
This blog is about making money

Very well said!
Making money online is tough if you simply try to follow the herd. This type of “outside the box” thinking is what will make you successful.
Great post, thanks!

Maybe instead of using an address like go/page.php a blogger could better disclose the link by using aff/page.php
But hiding an affiliate link has a real benefit: if the merchant changes the link you only have to change it once, rather than go changing every link.

I really do love the honesty of this blog!

The affiliate “recipe” is one the first things anyone interested in making money online should know.
Hiding affiliate links with “..go/something” is extremely cheesy. A post like this demonstrates that if you’re honest up front you can gain readers trust

I laugh when I visit PostSecret…unless I’m feeling sorta down, and then it seems pathetic and I start to lose faith in humanity…oh wait–I already did that!
Right on post.

This post reminds me of the old saying “can’t see the forest because of all the trees in the way.” We bloggers and would-be entrepreneur’s constantly miss the “big picture” on things until someone slaps us and says “See here, dummy?”
Great post. Just don’t slap us so hard next time.

I just can’t seem to wrap my head around the fact that a certain segment of the blogger population is crying in their beer about other bloggers making some “coin”.
If I am not mistaken, (I read this on another blog - and don’t remember the exact details) there was
a conference held by certain members of the “Blogosphere” about whether or not they should even make money from blogs!
I mean, how absurd is that. The “Blogosphere” is not a socialistic collective.
We are, after all, Capitalists!!!
Did anyone think that profiting from this medium would not be standard practice at some point?
Blogging is not a religion, and the blogosphere is not a church group! You can weave into the fabric of any blog, a mixture of great content, honest opinion, and money making opportunities.
And, who cares about reviewers, bloggers, or authority bloggers who hide their affiliate link?
Folks, it’s “Caveat Emptor” no matter what program you want to buy, or membership you want to sign up for based on a blogger’s opinion.
Due diligence is the key, if you plan on engaging in any “buying” activity. I just don’t get why this electronic medium is so different when it comes to monetization.
Maybe I am the one who just doesn’t get it..
That is my rant..
