Using Social Media to Make Money

While not exactly a direct method, using social networks can drive you down one of the many paths to making money online.

The key to this is to drive attention to your product if you are in fact selling a product, or drive people to your site, where you are hosting ads, or whatever your preferred source of online income is.

To make money from social media, it generally helps to already be making money online in some capacity. The idea here is to increase that amount.

Now, no one is going to give you a second look, let alone leave the network they are using to visit your website if you are just giving them a sales pitch.

You need to get involved in the community and participate in discussions. Make friends with people in your niche and let the community get to know you. Give them reason to give you the time of day.

Your exposure can spread like wildfire when you prove yourelf to be legitimate. You know you’re just trying to make a buck, but if you at the very least give off the appearance that you are interested in and/or inolved with your niche, people will be more likely to pay attention and you will be further down the path along your quest for cash.

Then there is the issue of presenting respectable profile pages. Again, this is just a factor in building credibility, and it is a lot easier to make money or at least continue making money for a long time if you are considered to be credible. SmallBusinessNewz discusses this issue.

You don’t need to use social media to make money online, but when looking for ways to increase your profits, it is definitely an option worth considering. It also tends to be more fun as a process then some other methods as you will meet people and potentially gain new friends.
