Videos Might Be Something To Invest In, For The Long Term
Online video has sky-rocketed in the past few years. Google’s sites account for 34.7% of the videos being watched on the internet. They can pretty much thank the ungodly popular YouTube for those numbers. The problem with YouTube has been on how to monetize the popularity. Through overlay ads, and in-stream ads there has been a big shift in where alot of the online advertising money is being spent.
Accoring to ClickZ.com, all different forms of online video ad spending will increase in the years to come. If you pay attention to internet trends, there always seems to be a trickle down effect. Where an idea will be implemented and then it will be adopted by other sites, until it eventually becomes the norm. Video ads I believe will be one of these trends, as the more you browse around the internet the more you see them.
So if you happen to have a site where you post blogs, and news this might be something to keep an eye on. Although most smaller sites will find it hard to obtain video ad revenue off the bat, how long will it be before the ‘trickle down’ effect beings to happen?
